Document ALL your Goals and your Path

Updated: Apr 24, 2019

How many times do we read the same statements in various ways? There is always a story about the struggle and then the accomplishment. "No pain, no gain" is a clip we can utilize in every facet of everything we do. Story is always the same. One needs to work hard to accomplish anything. I remember the first time I heard Eric Thomas speak, part of which he said, "You have to want it like you want to breathe."

However there is a downside to listening and reading the motivational speeches. A speech or writings are only words unless you can take the next step and move forward. Here is the suggestion. Make a calendar. Write it, not electronic. Do a daily calendar with time slots and tasks. Ensure the tasks allot the time needed. For example, if the goal after 30 days is to build your stamina in running 1 mile, how are you getting there? It is not enough to think it or put it into a laptop or phone. Old school paper calendars so it is in front of you. Check it off after every task daily. This will force you to master your time constraints. You will be surprised how much time is left over at the end of every day if you have a paper calendar.

The next and most important piece of all this is the fact that you need to make sure you are writing everything down on paper. If you don’t document your goals, you might as well forget them. You need to be extremely disciplined about recording everything. This will help you stay organized and most of all give you the ability to evaluate your progress. Think it, write it, document it and accomplish it.
